The Car Warranty Scam People Have Switched Numbers

The car warranty scam people have a new number: (605) 393-9811. They called my cell phone and this time it was the woman's recorded voice telling me this was my last call and if I didn't respond my file would be closed.

Oh, if only it were true!

I was fully prepared to string them along and get some info but no one picked up when I pressed one as instructed.

Anyway, beware. They've got themselves a new number to bother you from. I sure would like to know how they are getting away with calling cell phones.

ETA: I have filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission regarding these calls. They have a complaint wizard which makes it very easy to do. I'll keep everyone updated if I hear anything.

Thanks so much for this, I went looking for the owner of the number and found your site. I'd like to know WHERE they are getting the cell phone numbers, because I never give mine out to businesses. Grrr. Thanks for the info though!

Thanks for posting this! This number keeps calling my cell as well. If they were really going to close my "file" they would have done so 4 calls ago...

I just got a call from these geniuses and I knew right away it was a scam (not even a very clever on at that). I decided to stay on the line to harass them a little and after waiting on hold a minute or two, a lady came on the line and I started giving her the business. She didn't say a single word and ended up hanging up on me. I have been trying to call back to give them a taste of their own medicine but I just keep getting busy signals. Losers.

I got my second call today, first from 256-659-6931 and then 605-393-9811. They both come up as a car scam when I google them. I didn't answer either. Thanks for the tips that it is a scam!

I got the same exact two calls as the previous person both today April 21, 2009 but I screen my cell phone calls I never answer unless I recognize the number, where did they get the phone numbers from?? For the past I would say four days I've been getting calls from all over the U.S. I haven't been answering them because I figure if I don't answer they'll qrite the number off eventually does anyone think it'll stop?

They've been calling me for weeks on different numbers!

I also got one at 1:25pm today, and 4:28pm (april 21st 2009).

How do you get off their lists?

I just got the call but didn't answer. I googled it instead and came up with this page. Good to know! What's odd is that my cell isn't listed anywhere supposedly.

Found out on callercomplaints.com that the number is a landline in Rapid City, SD. I would file a complaint on the callercomplaints site and complain to the South Dakata attorney general's office.

866-469-3328 is the number from which I got one of these robo-calls on my cell phone last week. I listened only long enough to hear the beginning of the pitch and hung up. A few days later I found one site tracking info on these auto-warranty scam calls, and now I've just found this one. None of them had this particular number listed, but they're obviously talking about the same thing.

I've gotten several calls from these losers in the past week. I spoke to someone named "CJ" today and threatened to report them to the Better Business Bureau. Also, got the same call from 800-942-5795, spoke to "Jennifer".

There's another number too 909.691.9105 - which is what came up on my cell phone, however when I dialed it back it went to some kids house in Tennesse - been getting these calls for a couple of weeks now. So annoying!

These people clearly are using some sort of caller ID "spoofing" software to make these calls. I've been getting them for months now. I intend to find the location of these individuals and report them to the appropriate authorities and perhaps federal court litigation to stop it. Ideally, a federal court injunction would be easy to obtain considering their use of an auto dialer and recorded advertisement. Next time I receive a call from these people, I intend on "signing up" and then I will find out who their client is and who they are. If you get a call from them again, answer it and get all the information you can about the "car warranty." Then email me at usversuscarwarrantycallers@gmail.com
Just tell me what it is about and any information you can get by talking with the people. I will respond to every email. These calls have to stop.

Ok, I just got a call too. I had no idea what they were talking about but they new my nickname and also had my cell phone number and work number WTF. And now they know what kind of car I drive.
Who are these people? The number they called me from 256-261-7790 and the number they left me with so I can call Darick and buy a warrenty for my 20 year old car is 949-840-2307, this number is a housing authority number.

A high five to the judge who instated a restraining order against this company. Like everyone else, I was actually getting tired of these calls, day in and day out. First my work cell would ring, and then my personal cell. I don't think these operators who connects after you dial "one" know what number is calling. It is automatically forwarded to them. Why would anyone keep calling over and over again? My phone is a utility, not a radio. I pay for my calls, so I'm glad it finally stopped. Now I wish they would publish the name of the company who was doing this.
